Freakin' out about delivery...calm me down
Just called my dealer (Shamrock Nissan in Indiana). They said my salesman no longer works there. That scared me, but then the lady said that the sales manager would now take care of me. She also said, without me asking, that the car was scheduled to come in in TWO WEEKS! I asked her again like 3 times just to be sure. They have four cars in their allocation and she said that the first two cars (I'm first on the list) will be there in two weeks. I even reiterated that I had been told august initially and maybe september from my no longer there salesman, and she stuck by her guns! I can't believe her, though. But the thought has my mind churning.

I'm laughing because not only did my dealer quit but the dealership closed down 2 months later. It was actually a blessing though. NNA will actually be shipping the car closer to my home rather than me breaking my Z on the Pennsylvania turnpike. You Pittsburgians Know what dealership I'm talking about. I don't believe your car will be in that early though, but who knows maybe its on the boat as we speak.

The total ignorance and stupidity of dealers never ceases to amaze me.
My original salesman is no longer working for my dealership either... what's the deal? Probably from the stress of taking all our calls... 'when's my Z gonna be here',... 'can I change the color',... 'How many hp will it have',...'by the way, when's my z gonna be here'. Huh huh huh? Poor people probably were driven to drug addictions. Now they're in rehab sitting in the corner yelling: "I don't know!"

What it boils down to is NOBODY here really knows when they are getting their car. A lot of people have talked to their dealer, salesman, people at the dealer who are close friends, people at NNA, etc., etc., etc. We've heard cars here in 2 weeks, all of them delivered on August 4th, a 20+ day delay, some in July and most in August, some in August and most in September/October, and the latest rumor or 700+ cars in a first August shipment. Add to that some people have order numbers, some have been told an exact delivery day, and some have been told December. We also have major magazines saying the car will be at dealers in August. Just like most internet forums we have a ton of speculation and misinformation.
The recent packet we got in the mail was nice but what I really want now is a delivery date. Not rumor or speculation, I want Nissan to officially contact me with an estimated delivery date. Their production schedule should allow them at this point to send me a delivery date +/- a week, given no additional delays. It's been 5 months since I ordered the car and production has started (or has it ?) and I think we deserve a delivery estimate from Nissan.

Yeah, Zirvana, that's pretty funny. I don't know, she's probably full of crap, but I can DREAM that she really knows what she's talkin' about!
Hey gonzalez, I don't get it, Governor of Michigan? I live in Miami and my dealer is in Indiana, so why governor of Michigan?? Just wondering why you picked michigan??

I think that all the z info is great but I am getting tired of not knowing when my car is arriving. I don't need a specific date (although it would be preferred) simply a date + or - a week would be nice. Nissan should know by now their anticipated dilivery dates. If they are delayed just say so but give us a date. I say that we all get together and e-mail nissan demanding more specific info regarding the delivery of our cars. Lets join forces and e-mail them first thing on fri 7/5/02. As one great man once said "was it over when the germans bombed pearl harbour" "lets get them"
