Actually, they did complete the crash testing on the r34 and when they first started importing and legalizing them, they were full cars built properly to spec'd to US safety regulations. They decided to save some money and hassle of customs by cutting them in half and rewelding once they got to the US.

Umm sell Z after spin out!? I spinned out with traffic all around me. I managed to keep the spin in the same lane which was lucky for me. No way I would sell my Z for that though. Well... I always thought he was a criminal for what he charged for used Skylines -- this proves it.

We can still get GT-R32's in Canada -- can't import a car newer than 15yrs old from the build date... if it was never originally produced for North American markets. Right now you can pick up a GT-R32 for about CDN$22-27K depending on what aftermarket parts are on it.
