why o why did nissan put the power outlet for things like a phone charger and radar detector all the way in the back in the 03's, who's genius idea was that, the wire for my radar is stretched all the way back there. who thinks of that?!

 

buy an '06, the power outlet is like a whole 2 feet closer to the windsheild.

you can hard wire it. It's easy! if you don't feel confy doing it, just take it to an alarm place and they'll do it for you. I have an 06 with the power outlet in the dash also, but I hard wire mine. It gives the car a cleaner look...

 

I hate dealing with stuff like this and I hardwired mine. It is really not that hard there are a ton of posts and pics to show you how!

 

That's true you can hard-wire it. But also remember that you can wire up a cig lighter anywhere you want it. You could stash one under your dashboard, and use it for the radar detecter or whatever else you wanted (ipod, cell phone, whatever). Heck while you're under there, wire up 3 or 4 and plug in everything you own! You can pick up a spare cig lighter/12 volt outlet at any auto parts store.

 

I can see how the outlet being back there when using it for a radar detector is a pain...but for using it as a cell phone charger, I think its great..its it out of the way.. just my $0.02

 

on the 04's there is a power outlet hidden under the cup holder.

 

Just go to Fry's and buy a power outlet extender...

 

iono what year your's has but my 05. under the retarded cup holder has another power outlet.. thats where my radar detector go. and i use the one behind my seat for ipod.. love the way its set up
