Default Gas Pedal

There's a metal bracket underneath the gas pedal preventing the pedal from being pressed all the way down ....does that hinder the performance or the max speed at all? ...or is this just to protect it from damage/breakage?

YES, To remove the speed limiter, take off that Bracket. To go even faster, Cut a small hole i your floorboards to allow the pedal to travel all the way to the ground. Ever hear of a 4 on the floor? That means they cut a 4 inch hole in the floor for maximum pedle travel.

watch out tho, press down too hard and you'll engage the brake

That also makes a good pilot hole for a Flintstone TT.

TBH, I haven't gotten mine over 125, since I'm not sure that the stock Potenza's can take the speed.

I always heard that you drive with the e brake on just enough to make the light come on and it trips your speed limiter off.

The speed limiter is in miles/hour not kilometers/hour. Since you are from the United Kingdom it doesn't apply.

Hey Gralark! Umm, I've been here for a while, but just got my Z. It's stock only because i'm the kind of guy that waits till I have everything and then slaps it all on in one shot! I've got my kit, rims & tires, upgrade lights, and umm, intake... All I'm waiting for is my drop kit, lense covers for rear tailights, and in dash dvd. I should have it all a little before summer begins, just in time to go "shopping" if you know what I mean!

4 on the floor?? LOL that means floor mounted shifter and four speed tranny, there was a time when shifters were column mounted.

^^^^Wow, I'm confused.
So do I cut a hole in the floor, or shift with my blinkers. I just want to make the car as fast as possible. Maybe I'll just switch to km and call it a day

LOL, this has got to be the funniest thread yet...i think half the people here are confused...
in any casei have and '03 Z: got it in the first month it was available in DE. and in that same month i got it up to 155 mph on I-95 on the straightaway by the old veterans' stadium (philly)...wow! so i take it that my limiter is at least set over 155. before the Z i had a celica that i got up to 100...yeah -that was a biiiiiig jump! but the wheel got really stiff and the road looked like a focus tunnel!

I think the official electronic limit for the US market is 155 MPH...at least that's what the dealer told me back in '02

In the European models (or anywhere with Kilometers/hour) it kicks in at 250Km/h (showing 260km/h on the digital speedo)
