Default when downshifting do yall rpm match or not?

i guess i do all the options. depends on how fast i need to slow down. other times i just put in N and coast and then brake. sometimes i put in lower gear and leave the clutch in til ive slowed down enough i feel and then let the clutch back out.
what are yalls thoughts? are there any benefits to rpm matching?

rev matching, much easier on the tranny, quicker transition, no embarrasing jerking motion. its a must i think

it's bad practice to coast.

Often blip the throttle on the downshift, unless driving like my granny.

Am I going to have to make a video too?

Make it stop to rain/snow in Ohio and I'll do it. We can call it an "exercise in driving style". One way amongst many of shifting...

rev match on downshift when I might need to accelerate or upon entering a nice curve

After several hundred thousand miles driving a manual transmission, rev matching comes automatically like breathing. Generally when down shifting, a tiny blip on the throttle will pick up the RPMs. Most times its barely noticeable.

How do you know that you are doing it properly? The transition is smooth and barely noticeable.

to those who say it jerks alot when not revmatching it depends on speed and gear
i w ouldnt go from like 65 straight to 3rd and just let teh clutch out. not that that would be even a good choice to revmatch. if im going slower speeds i do sometimes bc it slows the car down faster. and davidv, it is a nice feeling when you properly revmatch on the downshift.
either way i usually only actually downshift when at speeds below 35. otherwise i dont feel it slows me down enough fast enough

Just practice and you'll catch on pretty quickly. After a while you'll find yourself doing it without even thinking about it.

yea i do it... i still need practice i guess

When going 75-80 i have to slow down to 20 when going through our ezpasses...

So idk if this is good for the tranny car but I put it in neutral and let it coast to like 50's then brake a little to like20's.... then right as i pass the ezpass I clutch in, shift, gas, clutch out.... sometimes i still jerk prob cuase a) i add too much gas or im still going to fast and add to little gas.

You will always get a jerk when downshifting.. even if u are going 60 in 6th and want to go to 5th wthout revmatching you will break ur neck =\
