Default shifting clicks

Ok before I post this I wasnt sure if it should go in the repairs forum or not so forgive me.

My 04 enthusiast has been absolutley terrific - no problems at all so far (knock on wood). One thing worries me, though. With all this tranny replacement talk, I notice mine has a little bit of a click or notch when going from first to second and sometimes second to third. Not that it is hard to get in to gear at all, just not perfectly smooth like you would expect from a car w/only 13k miles and costing nearly $30k. Your thoughts.....

also sorry if this is way over posted ill go search now..

13K miles on an '04 isn't out of the woods yet for real tranny problems. I have an '04, and my tranny went around 10K. But then again I drove my car like I stole it just about every day. Not saying I don't know how to drive/shift, but the car saw alot of racing and spirited driving.

About what you posted, as long as there is no grinding you have nothing to really worry about. My shifts are like that too. In fact I kind of like it, something about it being more rugged gives it more of an aggressive feel. If you hear a grind, you should worry.

Here's the thread I started to give you an idea of what happened to me.
