I have been looking at some racks from a company called Bird Automotive the rack fits onto a bracket that you bolt to the metal beam in the rear fender (Bumper) has anyone got one of these racks if so i would love to know if they are any good? I think you're looking for the Nissan Xterra forums. A bike rack on a Z is blasphemy.

What I suggest is one of the rear mount bike racks that attach to a trailer hitch and is easily removed.. Putting anything on top or mounting to the bumber is crazy!

A trailer hitch would bolt up real nice to the muffler...

Default if you cant find one make one.

I was in the same boat, but was not going to place a rack on the car and scratch the paint. I liked the idea of a hitch mount, but not adding a hitch reciver that would stay on the car (the lines are too nice). So I made my own. the 2" reciever bolts in place, so when you are done transporting your bikes you can remove it.

bs3wd,

I bet the Flames come from those with DVD players in SPORTS CARS.

I just saw someone put a bike inside their Z! That's nutz, with grease, mud, scratch potential. But for just one car payment...you do what you got to do.

Bikes are necessary for the weekend Z trips to stay fit. Several of my friends that didn't exercise weekends had heart attacks.

Please post DIY pix/instruction of your hitch install?

Interesting idea. I just can't picture a Z riding around with a bike rack, then again, my dad has bike rack on his M5

Cycling is huge in Europe so I can understand your question. I checked Yakima's web site and I was suprise they don't make one for the Z.

Why not carry it in the Z? I know it sounds absourb but if you use enough covers, and take your bike apart it might fit.
