Default Noisy Throw-out Bearing

Any owners experiencing a noisy throw-out bearing on their 6MT?
Test drove a 2004 and the noise from the bearing was quite loud when in neutral... pushing the clutch in reduced the noise significantly but certainly this can't be normal

I've seen a Nismo (?) "Throw-Out Bearing" that's an actual bearing, the stock one is a one piece brass bushing I believe. Anyone have any experience with this? Was thinking about getting it, only like $15.

Dont bother taking it to the dealer, if you do a search you will find that this is normal. The Z's drivetrain is noisy.

This is normal on the Z unfortunately. You will especially hear it if you park near a wall, like at a drive through.

Both my transmissions/clutches have done it (I have a 2003)

It is even more noticable with my JWT flywheel.

Yup, seems the norm for these cars. I get click, click, click when let out the clutch too.

Mine is a really loud whine. I drove an 05 that sounded really quiet though. It was nice.

No, the stock throw out is a bearing. The brass piece you are thinking about is the pilot bushing. They are two different parts. This is the norm for these cars. And yes mine also seems to be louder after I installed my JWT fly/clutch also.

Yep. I have a similar click/thud sound sometimes when disengaging the clutch. I do like the "notchiness" of the shifter though. It reminds you that you're driving a sports car.

If the clicking/ticking noise is coming from the rear end when you let off of the clutch, its probably the rear axles. There is a TSB out on it but I'm not sure what the number is. That noise is so annoying but when you've heard it for so long it sounds weird without it.

Just do a search on it, you're sure to find something.
