I've bought A LOT from performancenissan, always online. always w/ the credit/debit card that I use only to buy Z parts In the past two weels. my bank has called 4 times verifting that I intended to make purchases using my card, including $1300 worth of booze, OTC sudafed, and cosmetics @ a walgreens halfway across the country. Had to cancel the card and start over. Hacked???

excellent point.
i heard stories about merchants who billed customers a second time at the end of the year using the card numbers and got away with it...cuz a lot of consumers would pay their monthly credit card bills w/o looking.

Weak.. I reported my card as lost and they are sending me a new one, no letter yet but its a check card, not going to take any chances on it. Takes Bank of America 6 days to get me a new one!!

Sigh.

Great, I got the letter too. Those of you folks who used debit/check cards to purchase stuff from them, you guys should be extra careful because it's a big headache to dispute fraudulant charges on a debit card. I had to deal with that a couple of years ago, and it took a couple of months to get everything sorted. That's why I never use my check card online anymore--credit card only.

I canceled my credit card account as of today. Better to be safe than trying to prove fraudulent charges on a card.

However, the ugly part is:

1. I have to go each vendor I have that is setup for an automatic payment and get a new card number entered.

2. I had to lose a good CC account and probably will get a crappy limit again.

This was a MAJOR pain in the ***. Had to wait a week for a new card # and security, fill-out an affidavit of fraud and go to the bank for a notarized sig, etc, etc., not to mention multiple calls from the bank during cocktail hour. I'm not ragging on performancenissan-I love them-but I do hate what's happened to me and hope that a trusted vendor will install better internet security in the future.

Thanks, Andy. I have not lost my trust in performancenissan-only in internet security and humanity (which I lost a long time ago, anyhow.) I remain a loyal customer.
