Got a mail.. Perf Nissan and Mynismo hacked.. credit card problem now.
I havn't received my letter yet but I changed my CC # anyways. Went to Bank of America (right across my house,) walked right up to the counter and told them the situation. They pushed some buttons on their comptuer, issued me a temperary credit card # and I will have my new card sent to me in 3 days at no cost to me. I spent TOTAL 4 minutes in the bank. Not much of an inconvinience for me.
Great, I am overseas and can't remember what CC I used, I know for sure I used one but not sure about my other one. Oh well, guess I will make an international call and cancel both.
Maybe I can order that Nismo Exhaust and tell the wife some story,

Just called my CC company and asked for a new CC#. The long, grueling process took 2.231 entire minutes out of my life -- the 2.231 minutes which I could have used to....um....do...um....none the less, it wasted almost 3 minutes of my life!
A+ to Perf.nissan for the notification, F- to the hackers! I say we all find them and cut their ears off.

got my letter from performance yesterday and didn't think much of it.
saw this thread so i figure i better look into it.
i called the AMEX as it was the card i used w/ performance nissan purchases. AMEX couldn't verify my mailing address to access my account.
strange because i've been getting my monthly statements yet they insist that's not my current address. so i had to answer some questions and they were satisfied that i am who i says i am...account shows no fraudulent charges.
i had them shut down the existing card to be on safe side and re-issue a new card under my "new" address.
i continue to open some more mail and to my suprise i found a new credit card (BofA Visa) had been issued to me. strange, i didn't apply for one.
i called BofA and they said, it was issued when i was INSIDE THE BRANCH for a transaction on 4/4/06. okay that's great, but i haven't set foot inside a BofA branch for over a year or so.
i now have to open an investigation...
coincidence???
btw...jason, nismo catback sounds bad a$$ on my ZR.
you guys still have my trust/loyalty.

bobig- my experience was similar to yours; BofA credit cars, unused by me but attempted use, in-person, 2,000 miles away. BofA was very helpful, and I incurred no charges. Performancenissan still has my loyalty. Thieves of any type are the worst.

Business's using credit card information will save the last four digits of the credit card number only for reference purposes/financial reasons. A majority are not going to save all the numbers of the card, unless if an imprint machine is used. Even then, those are kept secured so no one creates any fraudulent charges. If someone does commit fraud, the companies will prosecute even their own employees.
I wouldn't worry too much about this guys, it happends to the best of us.
Thankfully credit cards are secure! However, should the unfortunate event happen where you have unkown charges to your card (due to hackers), just call your company at the number listed on the back of the card and file a dispute. I believe they are bound by US regulations to refund the charges to you and investigate the matter should they choose to.
It's happened to me for a $1500 amount and Citibank refunded my account instantly after filing a dispute.
Bottom line, don't sweat it boys and girls, the only unfortunate part about all this is seeing a great vender get hit

Easy for you to say. I'm going to vegas tomorrow. A cancelled card won't do **** for me now. Last time I disputed charges on my debit card, my money was back in my account in 24 hrs. I can't believe it. The first time I order from these guys and my sh*t is backordered....all I ordered was a ****. Now this. Its been a month and a half, no shift ****, now, no debit card. Gonna have to change all my info on all the monthly charge accounts, paypal, and evreything else. Never using PNPs again. F*ckers.
cancelled the card, took 5 minutes and thank goodness no unauthorized transactions... will have a new one in 5-10 days. Pain in the *** fixing automatic payments, ongoing purchases, and whatnot, but overall no biggie
