I bought from Perf Nissan but I'm not switching to new CC number. If someone did manage to get my number, I'm protected by the CC company, who wouldn't ship something to a non-verified address.

Additionally, there may be many of us who have moved since our last CC transaction with Performance - even with a change of address form on file at the old address, we're looking at a week delay in receiving the letter that lists the CC #'s we've used in the past with you. Is there any way we can call in, verify our address on file & be told what the last 4 of the CC (or in my case CC's - multiple different cards over the past 2+ years) on file is so we can take appropriate action ASAP? Hell, I've used at least 3 or 4 different cards with you & I have no idea which ones they were until you let me know - ha! Thanks!
Look forward to the new site!!! Jack
According to California law, it is the seller's obligation to inform consumers of ANY potential detriment caused by hacked credit card information, this is NOT a courtesy to the consumer, but rather a right. I would have assumed that this information was destroyed as required by law.

Destruction of customer records -- the "shredding" law
Businesses are required to take reasonable steps to destroy records containing personal information upon disposal of the records by shredding, erasing, or modifying the information to make it unreasonable. California Civil Code §§ 1798.80-82
Hacker law -- disclosure of computer security breaches
Requires business and government agencies to notify individuals when unencrypted personal information in the categories of Social Security Number, driver's license number, account number, or credit or debit card number has been accessed in a computer security breach. California Civil Code § 1798.29

I've been talking to perf nissan over the past few days on a late order and no one has mentioned a thing about this to me! Even when my card got rejected (credit card company doing a security check on the perf nissan charge) no one told me the site had been hacked...seems like someone should have told me on the phone this was going on if letters are going out.

Got the letter too! Called Capitol One and they did a check for fraud charges(none) and closed the account and are sending new cards at no charge, but will take about a week. Thanks to Performance Nissan for letting us know about this problem right away even if it was required by law. I'd like to think they would have done it any way to keep their customers happy and continue doing business with them.
Jason, when do you think the new site will be up?
