You paid too much. If you like your car and enjoy getting to know it more intimately, then download the manual and get some basic tools from Sears (Craftsman-lifetime warranty). Installing front pads takes me 30min. tops. Turning the rotors takes no labor whatsoever..all they do is mount it on a machine that grinds the rotor(somewhat like a record player but with a lot more friction ). Let me guess the HPS cost about $55(unless you got rears too)? Turning the rotors which really won't make a hell of a diff. in stopping unless you wore a groove in them will cost no more than $50 total at autozone and your in the clear w/ $315 in beer money.

at 32,000 i just had my front brakes and coolant flush done at a nissan dealer here in Oregon for $300. Brakes were $200 and I had one of those direct mail coupons that saved a little. Replaced the front pads with stock and resurfaced the rotors. Rotors were worn really thin and i was afraid there wouldn't be enough to cut them one more time. the wear limit is 22 mm and they are now 22.18 and 22.21 after resurfacing. thank goodness i didnt have to buy new rotors this time. the dealer said the stock pads are a ceramic blend to limit noise...but they seem harsh on the rotor. I'm wondering what the average mileage is for new pads are....

+1
It's about as hard as rotating your wheels, well maybe a little more involved.

The shop I work for charges 1.5 hrs per axle for disk brakes at about $80/hr. But we don't install customer supplied brake parts.

I bought New front "endless" pads from performancenissan.com for $95.00 and did it myself. IT took about ten minutes each side after the tire was off. I dont know why everyone thinks you need to do rotor work everytime you change pads. "I think they are crazy" and I think you really paid someone easy money to do it for you. I/M/O . I guarantee your rotors were fine at 24,000 miles. anyway I recommend you doing it yourself next time. It really is as easy as changing a tire. ALL you need is 14mm wrench and a C-Clamp. I am only talking about the Non Brembos because I dont have the brembro. I dont know how hard it is to change the Brembos. Anyway thats my two cents.

I also changed out to Endless Vita Nuova pads (front/rear). The pads cost like $180 for the set, and installation cost $90 (installing pads and resurfacing rotors)

I had my stock rotors turned at 29k miles. Whether or not the rotors need refinished depends on the condition of the rotors, and the same goes for the number of times the rotors can be turned. It's not a matter of "being crazy".

Rotors should always be inspected during a brake job.

The runout should be measured with a dial guage.

The rotor thickness should be measured with a micrometer.

The brakes should also be burnished after turning and/or replacing pads.

Those prices sound about the same for Nissan dealer here in NJ.

How is the brake dust from the new pads as compared to the old ones?

I'm up next for a front brake job.

IMHO brake jobs are the biggest ripoff in the car business. Took me longer to jack up the car than it did to replace pads, Did that at 12,000 miles (wanted Hawks 'cause of the dust) so did not get the rotors turned and have not heard a squeak out of them. Now at 40k and going to Beaver Run next month so will probably get new pads front and rear, get the rotors turned, and put in high temp fluid. Piece of cake work, other than the time involved in totally bleeding/replacing the fluid. I would NEVER pay someone to do it, but not everyone, even Z owners, is mechanically inclined. Another good reason to join a club - someone is always willing to help if you need it.
