Thumbs up Wow...VDC works!

Had my first "moment" in the Z...had many in my 510, but hey, blue book is $750!! So in the rain(!) somewhere in the middle of third on the outside of an uphill lefthanded sweeper of an on-ramp, the rear came out just as I passed a s-l-o-w Suburban. A touch of opposite lock and it came RIGHT back NOW. I wish I had a TPS tell-tale to see if I lifted or kept my foot in it, but either way, I'm covinced the VDC helped a ton. I've been through Jim Hall, but I ain't no Sena. Or Dick Trickle for that matter!!
Felt like sharing.
Have a nice rainy night everyone!

You passed a suburban on an off ramp in the rain? Hmm. Maybe there was a reason why that person was driving s-l-o-w?? You think???

And I think you meant a touch of counter steer, as opposite lock is turning the steering wheel all the way to the left or right, there is no "a touch" of opposite lock.

VDC is for pussies Just dont mess around in the rain..and dont drive in the corner lanes...(to avoid puddles). I agree it'll help u a lot in a light emergency sitation like that. I had a G35X w/ VDC, and it was a loaner so i was messing around in it. I tried to make it spin out in a parking lot but it wouldnt let me :-p

VDC does work quite well, it has saved my *** once or twice in snow/rain before. It definitely makes the car a lot safer in bad weather.

I still don't know whether or not i'm going to disconect the VDC when I get my Z, I won't need it in the summer b/c I've had plenty of experience with cars at or past the limit plus I may be going to Skip Barber driving school at Laguna Seca. But I'm going to be driving my Z in the winter and i'm not sure if i'll be okay even with snow tires.

Never mind. I forgot. I don't have VDC. It must have been my superior driving skills.

Excuse me for the TOTALLY FALSE, way off the mark, terminolgy, but I passed on the ON-RAMP, where people pass slower traffic, so if you're not going to completely read my post, DON'T reply. Oh, and Suburbans drive slow, because they are SUV's, and YES, I pass SUV's because I can.
Word.

No need to apologize. Now you can say you know the difference between opposite lock and counter steer. You should be thanking me instead! lol

I'll apologize for misreading your post, even though I did read it all. Around here we don't have passing zones on either the on/off ramps. Maybe it's different there.

I say if you're going to drive like a noob, don't drive at all!!! Then again... Keep passing those SUV's in the rain "because you can". Keep allowing VDC to save your *** because of your elite driving skills. Just one thing though. When you total your Z, if you survive, make sure you take some pictures for us.

So...been driving modified cars for twelve years, and not quite a "noob", but you're a "****" and I going to stop reading this thread and wasting my time in, THREE, TWO, ONE.

Might as well leave it, and use the switch to turn it off. If you really want to completely disable it, splice in an extra switch on the power cable going to the VDC. Then, you can have it disabled as long as you like, but still have the option of turning it back on when you want it (for say, rainy days).

I love how these threads always start the "You're a ***** if you drive with VDC!" and the "Maybe you shouldn't have been driving aggressively in the rain!" comments. It's always the same, .
