okie dokie..........
What brand is good?
How do they compare?
How can you make it faster?
Can you get bigger engines? What type?
Do you prefer the old "stick" remote or the "wheel" type?

s9am_me: I live in the Bay Area also. Who carries RC cars like the Z? Also I ran my first SCCA autocross in the Z two weekends ago. There were two other Zs. It was great fun and I'm hooked. The next autocross is at 3com this sunday and on Feb 23.

well.. some know brands are (cheapest to most expensive) HPI, AE, Mugen, Shumauker.. any they have different cars. They have Touring cars... Trucks.. buggies.. ect. Some cars are run by belts.. some by a long drive shaft. If your a beginner.. prolly should buy a ready to run.. it comes assembled already and all you need is gas (HPI & AE offer RTR's).. if you wanna spend 10 hours+ assembling the car itself.. you can get kits but you need to buy a radio with it. There's also different engine types.. from smallest to biggest = .12, .15, .18, .21. To make them faster... its just like fixing up a real car. Get intake/exhaust systems.. get better suspensions.. get some better tires.. get a 2 or 3 speed tranny.. ect. I prefer the wheel type remote better.. more realistic and of course.. this is a VERY expensive hobby

You can fit it in any touring car thats 200mm. You just buy the body and paint it. Towerhobbies.com sells it for about $20. Aww.. i can't go on Sundays (church). It it always on Sudays?? I've always wanted to go to one

Its orginally an HPI RS4 3 Ready to Run ($289). I swapped out the engine and put in a better one. The stock was a .15 engine (about 0.5HP).. but i got a .12 engine (rated at 1HP+) for christmas. Bought me a racing clutch (lets you engage the clutch at a higher or lower RPM), bought new headers and exhaust pipe, bigger intake filter, and an FM radio. All the suspension and chassis parts are stock. BTW.. i think only Shumauker is only one that makes a .21 engine Touring car. Its a kit and is advertised to go 60MPH out the box. You're gonna need to buy a radio and some gas if your gonna get that. But i've heard good reviews about that car.. very very quick!
