Default Do 03's really have that many problems?

i'm interested in buying a 350z or s2k so i joined this forum to get more info. I did a search and i see many complaints about 03 and 04 models having problems. This is really making me choose an s2k. Are there reallly that many problems with the 03 model? Can tire feathering be fixed with a simple alignment? Please help or convince me otherwise because reliability is my #1 factor.

yes it can have many of the common problems. yes they are all covered under warranty if you can find a 03 thats still under warranty. please use the search feature in the future, you can find many topics on this particular subject. many 04's are still under warranty and can be had for just a little more then 03's, might be worth it.

If reliability is at the top of your list forget a performance sports car. Get a Toyota Camry or Honda Accord. Reliable and inexpensive to maintain.

I've had problems with the tranny and they relubed the axel also the grease from the inside windows when going up and down. The trunk latch doesn't work that great. Everything was covered under warrenty, so I didn't pay a cent.

The engine is strong and suspension is still stiff

I had the window issues, have the tire issues, and my head unit skips, but I have an iPod. My biggest issue is that I only have one power outlet, but I got a 10 dollar splitter from radio shack, so I now have 3. So no...nothing that would keep me from buying the car again.

i have an 03 perf.edition i got in april last year it had 5,000 mi on it.it had the feathering problem(fixed w/ alignment and new redesigned tires) this problem was mostly in the original tire design. and had the window motor replaced all under warrenty. other than that zero problems!!

+1 The feathering, IMHO, was due to the craptenzas and the inability of a Nissan dealership to properly align the car. I took my '03 (since sold) to a reputable tire shop with a good alignment machine right after the Nissan dealer had supposedly aligned it. Go figure, the alignment was still way off. I put on Pilot Sports and ran it for 15,000 miles without any signs of feathering.

ditto... I have 56k miles on my 03' touring and absolutely love it, I do have a 5yr 100k mile warranty on the car so I'm not too worried. The only problem i've had is my passenger window motor but its covered by the warranty i just need to find the time to take it in. The 350 is the best car I've ever owned

I have an 03 with 30,000 miles on it with only minor tire feathering. Still, if I was buying used, I'd go with an 04 just to reduce probability of issues.

Most important have any used car checked out by good mechanic.
