Guys,

I just got my 06 Z about two months ago. I've been reading about horror stories on the 03-05 transmissions. Has Nissan addressed this problem on the new 06 models? My transmission feels great and i've never had any trouble getting into gear. I do have a slight whine in the tranny for about the first 5 minutes in the morning, but it only does it in 5th and 6th. I just rolled over 3000 miles and so far so good. Should I have bought the gold extended warranty?? I didnt know about the tranny issues when i purchased my car.

ive heard they havent changed anything in the tranny. many 06 owners have complained about the whine in 5th and 6th also...

im hoping that nismo does what it did with the SR20 tranny, and they made a 6-speed tranny. VERY expensive, but unbreakable and had +1 gear.

if nismo could make a stronger getrag type tranny, i would buy that before a TURBO!

 

I have a 06 and I had problems with my trans. Keep in mind I only had 3500 miles when the problems started. Nissan replaced it and now I just have the whine at 80mph and above.
