Default Oil Consumption

My car is at the dealer now and he is just waiting for the word to replace my engine. I knew I was loosing oil, but didn't know from where. They couldn't figure it out either. So I will know by the end of the day if they will be replacing my engine. I have 27k on it and the dealer has been the only one to change the oil.

First oil change @ 3100 @ the dealership, checked it afterwards to make sure it had new oil ( I don't trust em ). Now @ 5200 miles and the oil level hasn;t changed.

I would think if you have oil consumption issues with less than 80k you have problems!

I have had zero oil consumption issues until about 5,000 mi. ago (currently have 55,000 mi. on car, 29,000 boosted); no consuming about 1 qt every 1,000 mi.; no leaks, no smoke, no oily discharged on the exhaust - it simply disappears. Thinking about installing a catch can to see if I can trap some of it just for piece of mind.

Mine did that in 600 miles. Had 46k on the motor and got a new longblock put in back in January. Good luck with your OC test. Having a good dealer makes every bit of difference!!
