I'm gonna be doing my first oil change this week and I was thinking about getting a magnetic oil plug and a Oil Pan Spacer ( That thing you bolt to your pan so you can put an extra qt. of oil.) I dont know the proper name. I am gonna get the Purple Oil and a K&N Oil Filter. Thought I would do it right the first time. I will prob. be changing the diff fluid while it is in the air. Any other suggestions? I will be performing these things on a lift. She only has 1,400 miles.
Thanks all

I just changed mine this past weekend (1400 miles also). The stock oil plug works fine for me. I dont think you will need an extra quart of oil...5 is plenty. Dont forget to get a new crusher washer though. Here is what I used:
5 qts Mobile 1 5w-30
Nissan oil filter (part # 15208-9E000)
This car is actually pretty easy to change the oil yourself. The only pain is taking off the 14 bolts that hold in the plastic air deflecter. But, once that is off, the drain plug and filter are both very easy to access.

I have looked at a oil pan spacer and am not crazy about the idea. You now have one potential leak area (one gasket), and you will be trading it for two gaskets. For an addition quart of oil, I don't believe it is worth the risk.
If you are racing and concerned about oil temperature, I would give consideration to a oil cooler: much more efficient than one additional quart of oil.

Heres what my Dad and I did to ours. We cut a small square hole in the deflector big enough to take out the oil filter without getting oil everywhere, then put a steel bar across to maintain some rigidity. Now we just unbolt one bolt from the bar and swing it out of the way. Easy as pie to change oil now
