Thumbs down What exactly do I need for a Nismo wing?

I am looking into buying one, but the dealership i bought my car from said they best they could do would be 600 before painting and labor. Isn't that a bit high? They also had like 5 other things besides the wing I had to pay for, the only thing the salesmen knew of that those were he called hydraulic boosts so that the hatch could open properly once it is installed. I have full part #'s and prices which supposedly were "employee" prices that I can post when I get home. Were they bull****tin me trying to get me to buy it? They said for the wing, paint, and install it would be around 1300 bucks...

Why not a nismo replica, around $300 for mine. Performance Nissan or VIS.

i assume mine is a replica even though it says nismo like on all the papers they sent me, but i dunno if nismo is stamped on it or not...it was like 300 or 350 from performance nissan, but it fits perfect, came ready to paint and i installed myself which was scary as ****, drilling massive holes in your trunk lid is not my idea of fun, but it was done and looks amazing...compliments on it almost daily

i havent used it in the winter yet as i just got it like a month ago, but the shocks that open the hatch work fine in warm weather, some people say that it is too heavy and the trunk doesnt open right, like it still kind of stays closed, but i have had zero problems...maybe in the winter when the shocks dont work as well anyways it might be a problem but we will see when that time rolls around again in 5 or 6 months

I got the dealer to throw the NISMO wing in - they just put it on a week ago - no problems with the hatch as of yet. I don't think they changed the hinges.

When you install your wing you should remove the weight bolted inside the hatch assm. since you have to remove the inner panel anyway to drill holes. Even if your wing is already on it's not hard to do. The weight only weighs about a pound but made a huge difference on my shocks.

should installing the wing be something i let the nissan people do? im not that handy of a person. i just dont see how "with employee discount pricing" it still would be over 1000 bucks to get a wing and install it
