Hey Daytona,

Welcome to the site and thanks for your opinions.

I just returned from Seal Beach/Long Beach after attending a wedding there. I drove back to the Bay Area via Interstates 405/5/580. I have to tell you, the thought of taking my new Z on public roads with the kamikazes is going to keep me up nights! I witnessed the aftermath of one fatal wreck (female body on the shoulder, half covered by tarp) and 207 near misses.

It seems like BMW should have only made an M coupe. This hatchback is obviously a "hardcore" persons car... so it seems silly to even come out with a toned down Z3 version. But of course... the //M costs seriously cash. Yeah... in the end... I'd have to say the 350Z wins out for me... cuz of the price to performance and style ratio. Of course that is super subjective.

hey guys, just to clarify, i was comparing the 240hp version.
you can get one w/ less than 20k mi. for about 30-32.
not the 315 hp "new" version. but yes, my guy at the dealer was offering me an M coupe 2002 sticker around 45.6k for about 41k. needless to say, i think they are discounting them.

i just thought of bringing this up when i took my friends m roadster out for a drive.

also, i am NOT comparing the conv. models as some of you guys say the m roadster.

thanks for all you comments and replies!

Funny. I thought that there was only an M coupe. In Canada, I believe that is all we got in coupe form. M coupe is very pricey, but I may have considered a Z3coupe if they were available here.

The Z3 is a pretty sweet car, I drove the 3.0 version and was impressed. I like the styling of the coupe, but not nearly as much as I like the Z. Before I ordered my Z I was looking at BMW 330's and I was checking out an M Coupe they had in their showroom.. it was the old model but it was going for about $40,000 brand new. If you could get the new version for that much it would be worth looking into. I wouldn't mess with a used one though, if I am spending $30,000+, I want a new car.
