Wtf...car BUCKING at 2500 rpm?! Pleaaaase help!
So I was going to go out tonight..coasted down my driveway. And then as I accelerated, it bucked and decelerated mightily. Tried in second. Third. Same thing. Wierd, mothball like smell coming from the exhaust, and the idle seemed fine until massive, random drops.
What the hell is going on?! Is it condensation in the tank? Is it the popcharger? (that i've had on for about 1K). Was it the oil change 2 days ago (a place i've gotten it at changed at before)?

Lemme rephrase that... can you repeat the question... in a way that makes more sense? I'm not getting much information from your post. Just bucking and rpm drop... that doesn't tell me a lot.
ok update: I drove it and it worked. WTF? Didn't touch anything...after that I tightened everything up and it still worked. I am absolutely miffed...should I take it in?
Well I had bucking at exactly 2500 RPM, and deceleration b/c of that. Then a wierd smell in the engine.
It works now..and after it worked I retightened everything. Do these things come off easily or what?! I'm not sure what it is (if it was the popcharger off or what), but i'd certainly love to prevent it again.

No lights at all, which is what really confused me. Should I take it to the dealer in the morning, even though it appears to be working fine? Im worried that there is something in the gas..Wawa is known to be horrendous with gas quality (Wawa=local chain)..and then there is condensation..damn weather.

Yeah I know highly unlikley. Could be a weird set of circumstances

Ummmm...you might want to step back and think this out first!
What other mods do you have done to your Z? More info is needed about your car before we ccan help! And if the intake is your only mod then you might want to swap out the pop charger for the oem intake setup for "warranty" reasons before you take it in man!

I would first reset Ecu and see if it goes away or sets the SES light
Well there were no lights at all..and I just ran her again and theres no problems. I'll d/c the battery for the night. Hopefully she works in the morning?

are you able to get past 2500 rpms? or does the engine not go any higher then that speed?
if the car is just bucking at all ranges of engine speed (including idle), I'd do a quick check your plugs and spark plug wires, you might be running on less then 6 cylinders

Hmm, I just dug this old thread up. My car did this yesterday morning after letting it sit over the weekend. It was in safe mode, and would not rev past 2500 rpm. After turning it off, then back on, it was fine.
WTF??! Is there Microsoft software running in our ECU's? They just boot up badly sometimes? lol
