Default Hardwiring Radar Detector (under dash)

I can see no clean way to use the power plug for my detector. It's in a bad position. The wire will be in the way. Any ideas about where to splice the power cord under the drivers-side dash?

what kind of radar detector do you have? if you have a v1 or a passport 8500, use a telephone cord, splice and use the two middle wires (green is ground), run across headliner to fuse box.

It's a Bel 955. I'll see about going to the fuse box. Thanks.

Fuse box is the easiest way i've done it. Just find a good ground and wrap the power wire around a single prong on the fuse of choice, usually the ignition but i'm not familiar with the Z's box.
