ok guys i got a question. my car is pinging at initial full throttle at around 2500 to 3000 rpm. it does not ping anywhere else. i tried blowing all the carbon out. cleaned air filter, cleaned MAF sensor, cleaned TB, and even tried octane boost! does anyone know if there is a bulletin on a pinging? also i hooked up a scan tool to it just to see the parameters and the stft is at 9% at idle! now not sure if thats gonna be acurate because the matco scan tool is very slow in response. i really need some help! i have noticed that my gas mileage is horrible. hmmmm im hoping its not a small vacuum leak!!! please someone help!

 

What is "stft"? What mods do you have? Honestly, I'd be taking it to the dealer assuming you still have warranty coverage. This car does have a knock sensor and it should be detecting that.

the stft means short term fuel trim and the pinging is not setting any codes. im assuming it has to sense it before it does anything. the pinging is not really loud either. ive takin it in to the dealer and they said its operating to factory specs. imma take it in again and ask them to atleast hook up a scan tool and check my parameters. the only mods i have currently on there is an injen cai and some ground wire kits. everything else is stock. it was still pinging even when it was stock with nothing on. is there anyone that had this problem? and thanx for the replys!
