350Z vs. RX8
Finally, after one year of owning two different Z's, I finally found someone willing to race me in their RX8. I have the basic beginner mods (listed below)as well as the RX8 did but I gotta tell ya, those cars are slow! I spanked him at three straight red lights. I only went to 3rd gear each time but each time he was at least 3 car lengths or more behind me. Victory is such a sweet feeling! I'm sure this race has been posted but I had to share.

The only rx8 that ever even thought about racing me, did just that... he thought about it. I was cruising on the highway and passed him. He had a full body kit, wing.... etc. He sped up very obviously to pull even with me and started pacing me. I thought he must want to play so I downshifted and goosed it hard to see if he was game. He let off the throttle completely and tried to get as far away as possible.
It was classic.
rx8 = teh slow.

They should discontinue the car ASAP and
bring back the real RX = the RX-7

Talking about high reving engine, now S2000 was FUN to drive compared to RX-8.

i test drove the rx8 before getting the Z. That car is fun for taking turns but it lacked power. That was the main reason why i didn't get one. But on the other hand...if it had as much power as the Z then that would have been the more practical choice.

There was a comparison article on R&T Speed which featured
Greddy turbo RX-8 with full bolt-on mods it still pulled only upper 200s or low 300s (I 4got gotta check again)
Still WEAK.

That's really low hp. I guess it's not bad for the engine size, but still bad for a sports car. Why would mazda use that rotary, when their turbo engine from the mazda speed 6 have better potential and probably more reliable. It has something like 280 lbs of torque stock.

I was in a Mazda dealership the other day and they had a ****aka Edition RX-8 with a body kit that looked really good, the interior had nice leather too.. But they wanted $34K for the damn thing!!! As a 20-25K sporty car it would be great, but as a 30-35K car it is totally ou-classes. The RX-8 should be classed with the Eclipse or Civic SI.
