Default UTEC in....

Well after sitting in my counter next to my laptop for weeks, I finally installed my UTEC. I was waiting to see if someone could publish their Maps here. My wife is so happy I got all the crap out of there. The install was pretty straight forward, but it took some muscle to squeeze it in. Now, I didn't take it to a shop or have the car tuned. A shop in Phoenix wanted $360 to tune and Dyno it. I didn't feel like parting with that quite yet. I'm running the Base Map. I also raised the Rev Limiter to 7200.

I have to tell ya, I'm happy with the results. The **** dyno can feel the difference and the extra RMPs are great. It pulls stronger through all the gears. Once I learn more about the map numbers I'll tinker with it. Take care........db

Did you get it dynoed ahead of time? it would be interesting to see the difference. (before and after)

You know I didn't dyno it..and that's too bad. I know it would be better, but I'm the kinda guy that just would be happier with what I could feel. I know it's running better than before and I'm happy with that. Just the increasing of the Rev limiter is great. It will be really worth it when I turbo charge it later this year. I know it better than a reflash because the owner in in control. That in itself is worth the extra money over a reflash......db

How do you find using it and tuning with it out of the box? Easy to use?

Awesome to know the stock maps make a difference.

Keep an eye out around Sep/Oct for my UTEC thread. When I return from this sandbox I will be installing and tuning with the UTEC. Already have my baseline numbers & mod numbers. Next up are UTEC numbers.

Well, I'm using the Base map it cane with. I haven't tried tuning it yet because I'm wait to get some Map examples. Once you get the software installed and play with it, it will be easy to change the numbers.....db

Just a reminder to everyone, the base maps are very conservative maps. They don't bring out the FULL potential the UTEC has to offer. Just wait until you get a custom tune. It blow your socks off!

Hova

P.S. $360 for a dyno tune is pretty good but I would be careful on who tunes it. Make sure the shop has experience with the VQ plateform. You know how touchy our engines are...

Think I get my car dynoed w/ the base map to see what/if there are any gains and then dyno tune.

You should really get a tune and dyno. When we first put mine in we got lower numbers then the stock ecu. It wasnt until we began tuning that we got some real nice gains.
