Grinding noise coming from clutch when idling? WTF!
I have a 2004Z with only 10k miles on it. Last night i heard a something that sounded like bad bearings coming from the tranny. I'm thinking it has to do with the clutch because when i press down on the clutch pedal the noise goes away.
This morning the noise seemed to have gone away, but I'm still planning on king it in to the dealer tomorrow morning.
Is this common on the 2003-4 model seeing that they seem to have tranny issues?

I doubt anything is wrong. When the clutch is pressed in (disengaged) the engine is no longer connected to the input shaft on the transmission. Release the clutch and the noise comes back. It's normal. It's easier to hear when you're by a curb or a wall and your window is down. If the clutch is working properly I wouldn't worry about it.
well my 06 did that last night for the first time, or atleast that i have notice. I was like WTF it sounded kinda bad. but then i read its norm im like **** my honda never sounded like that ?
It is NOT the throwout bearing!! A worn throwout bearing will make a noise when the clutch is depressed. The throwout bearing is what allows the pressure plate to freewheel while the clutch is pressed in.
In this situation the noise goes away when he pushes the clutch in, which is perfectly normal.
When the clutch is engaged/released while in neutral, the tranny must start spinning with the engine. This makes noise. When you disengage the clutch you will hear the noise slow to a stop.
It's perfectly normal.

This issue has been discussed many times before.

Like others have said, the "marbles in a blender" noise is quite common.
