I highly doubt he literally spray painted the side of his Z. If I were the kids parents, I'd take his car away. Maybe some kind of decals.

I can't really badmouth kids getting new cars because my 1st car was a new sunfire (slowfire) but my parents had enough sense to buy me a slow car for my 1st car instead of a sportscar. This kid flat out ruined a beautiful car and should have his keys taken away.

exactly. start w/ a slow car, get a feel for it - then move up. but even then a jump to a very fast car from a beater is huge leap. slow to semi-sporty to full sport. or if you plan to have him make the transition make sure you let them get some seat time behind sporty cars first so it doesn't catch them off gaurd. ultimately parents should gauge the maturity of their kids and act accordingly.

Don't worry. I'm sure natural selection will eliminate him from the human gene pool soon enough. Although his idiot parents obviously lived long enough to reproduce.

Just wondering if the "spray paint" was the same stuff I saw advertised the other day on T.V. It's a spray on wash off type of paint..I guess cool for kids like this..ricers. It would be kind of funny to get this stuff and spray it on your wifes or buddies car just to f with them.

And to think that I thought I was a young Z buyer at 18...

Though I did get a nice high-performance car when I was 16 (02 trans am WS6). At least I was very responsible with it though, and I took great care of it.

Basically the moral of the story is that age is not the problem, but the person. I know plenty of people who are in their 20's that I would never trust with a sports car, and yet I know some teenagers that are better with nice cars than most adults are.

this storyhas to be fake. No one could possibly have that thought process. Who would honestly and i dont care how big of a ricer you are, you would and i repeat, someone would never spraypaint a new Z. This person has to be mentally challenged or something.

Maybe we should all go tag his car because he thinks it cool to ruin a 30K car with some stupid spray paint. I know that sounds childish but it's to prove a point. I'm 17 and I would have to be held at gun point before I spray painted my Z. This is my favorite example: My friend's brother (age 8-10) stole some chocolate cake that he wasn't supposed to eat, then lied about it. So his mother fed him chocolate cake for 2-3 days for breakfast, lunch, and dinner until he understood what he did.

Now this kid didn't steal anything but because he thinks it's cool to spray paint 30k cars he should have his car repainted something ugly. I understand it's his own car but this is rediculous. To be honest where were his parent's when he painted the car? I think there's some responsibility issues with the parent's.

Was this in or around St. Louis? I'll be there in my Z next week.
