If nissans numbers are correct that sounds about right given your weight reductions....1/4tank -80lbs off curb, spare&tools -40lbs, single exhaust/test pipes/ypipe shaved off at least another 40lbs or so???

Anyone know where most of the Z's weight comes from? It's weird for such a small car to be that heavy. I just checked edmunds to get some quick curb weights:

C5 Vette - 3179 lbs
Acura RSX-S - 2840 lbs
'06 Civic Si - 2877 lbs
'06 Mustang GT - 3488 lbs

'06 350Z Base - 3339 lbs

I'd like to lighten mine up a bit with mods if it's not too much trouble. Imagine the improved acceleration and handling if you could drop 500lbs off the Z.

I think it should be a sticky.

That estimate of 3370 for an 06 track is right on. I have removed about 73 lbs so far and weighed my car this past weekend @ 3300 lbs even.

The chassis. It's a shared design rather than a purpose built chasis like the other cars you listed. It's shared with the altima I believe.. which is a large car.. correct me if I'm wrong..

I can't remember if it was the Altima or an SUV chassis. Whatever it is, the chassis is pretty damn heavy, but sturdy as well.

EVERYONE that has said they wouldnt like a gutted daily driver has changed their mind when they saw it. it looks so much cleaner. if you sit in the front seats, it looks just like yours, just everything behind the seats is out.

i never drive the car, i have a truck i drive daily, its my toy.
