cf, rice or not?
If the carbon fiber is on a 98 ford escort it's considered rice.
If the carbon fiber is on a supra or 350z its considered "Hawt".

If done right then it looks great.
My car is black and has the Stillen CF hood, most of the hood is painted and only the bulge/cowl is still CF and it looks great. When it first went on and was all CF it did not look right.

If you're driving the car on the street, then I think it's pretty ricey. Exposed carbon fiber only lends to excessive peacockery *ahem*
If you have a race car, or track car, I can understand...but if you're driving down the street showing off all that carbon fiber, it's really just asking for someone to vandalize, rob, ticket, or steal your car. Not to mention, most of the CF products out there are simply carbon fiber overlays of your standard fiberglass+resin kit. Real CF > CF-FRP (and costs much much more)
I haven't seen many CF parts that don't discolor after a year or so.

Well, if you want a comment of a super exotic car when we are talking about putting Carbon fibre on a 350Z then I guess I will paste this:
I would rather have a car that is made out of carbon fibre that is painted then left with the exposed weave. This is my personal taste, so if I had a choice between a non-painted carbon fibre Zonda or a painted carbon fibre Zonda, I'd personally choose the painted Zonda.
The CCX's body and chassis are made out of Carbon Fibre. It has the first industry's carbon fibre wheels! It even has a carbon fibre intake plenum. But you would never know it from the picture.

I think the definition of rice is so subjective that it is hard to have one solid answer. However, I am all for CF as it saves weight in most cases as long as you are not buying the cheap stuff. I have been lagging on getting my dry carbon stuff done, which is what I really want because that is ultimate weight savings and strength.
Just keep in mind that what you do to your car is your own preference and do not be bothered by what people say on here because well ummm..... look at their car...
