Depends on what it is. A huge CF wing would probably be rice, where as a CF hood not so much.

I think there needs to be a third option in your poll. CF isn't rice if used in moderation. Little accents, ie Lip Spoiler, B Pillars, Varis Intake Duct, etc.

Exactly. I don't believe I can vote either way as it's definitely not "rice" if done in good taste. Functional dry cf is definitely not "rice".

Oh, and that Zonda pic makes me wonder how longn until someone does a "Zonda exhaust mod" to make their exhaust come out right in the middle of the rear bumper.

I believe rice is any money spent on unnecessary bling rather than a performance enhancement.

LOL, good rebutal. I think people use the word "rice" so much that they don't even know what it means anymore and your rebutal proves that.

Anyhoo, back to the topic. I have a JDM Pro-Staff Carbon Fiber lip and decided to get it painted. If I were to get a carbon fiber hood, I'd also get it painted. I just find the carbon fiber patch work on some cars not appealing. This is my taste, so who knows, others could have a hard on seeing carbon fiber patches here and there on a car.

I didn't vote because I didn't like the options you put up or your thread title. I think you should have asked: "Should I paint my carbon fiber parts". My answer would personally be Yes. I'm not a fan of two tones on cars.

If it's done tastefully it's definitely not rice.

IMO, carbon Fiber looks Ricey. get all the carbon fiber parts you want but paint it. I'm down with the functionality of CF, but not the display of it!

Leaving it unpainted, with the intention of "showin it off" is ricey. Unpainted carbon fiber hoods/trunk lids are tacky IMO.

Sure paint adds some weight...but you can just go on a diet or not eat lunch

I couldn't agree more. I love the stuff for the strength and light weight but paint it.

i judge this by a case by case basis. ive seen carbon fiber done well and some that are completely rice. take a good look at rickdoggs car. he has a carbon fiber hood, headlight covers, doors and hatch and it looks damn good.
