Default rims turning black

my 350Z is barely 2 weeks old and the rims are starting to turn black and its not from brake dust. does anyone know what is causing this and what the fix is? I have not spoken with the service manager yet but it seems there have been at least 30 other Zs with this problem at this dealership alone

get new brake pads, the stock pads are notorious for dust.

Yeah...pics would help. If you say it's not brake dust, I would assume it's something on the roads in your area that is causing a chemical reacation to your wheels. Since you're in florida, it could be some salt that is causing it to corrode.

What year / trim do you have? Which wheels? The Rays on my 06 seem to be doing it too. I'm trying to track it down as well. I live in TN and I know mine is not from salt on the road (It's spring and there is none)

The GM and service manager at the dealership are still looking into this. They believe something got onto the wheels prior to leaving Japan and arriving into Florida. Several dealerships on the both the east and west coast of florida are having a problem with this. If you are purchasing a 350z in florida I highly recommend checking the wheels for any black spotting. If you see any have them swap out the wheels for a clean pair!
