i'm leaning towards yes, but then i heard they're built into the front seats. which means if i wanna change to leather seats, the side airbags will go with my old seats. is this true? do these side and curtain airbags really make a big difference in terms of safety?
Some will argue that they add more weight, some will argue that they will save lives. Personally, I opted not to get them. Why? Because the dealer was able to located the exact car that I wanted that was already on a boat getting shipped over here, and it didnt have them. It was not going to be a deal breaker for me. Do I think that I'm going to die now that I dont have them? Nope. Every other car I've owned did not have them.
I've even been in an accident (not the driver) and went through the windshield (just took off seat belt to get my wallet out), and I lived. Yes, they are probably a good idea and make sense to have...but I wouldnt make a big deal about them.

i changed to leather seats and the airbags stayed with the new leather with side impact airbag protection.
hah i had the same thread a few weeks ago.....and for the most part youll get a yes here....so it really comes down to your car configuration preference and if you can find it with side airbags.....i ended up not getting them since i was too anxious and couldnt wait for new inventory and didnt want to order....just my .02 experience from recent
Are side impact air bags ALWAYS included with the leather option? I have them (2005 Touring Roadster), just wondering if these were standard for the Touring Roadster or not.
