Do you ever take your Z "downtown?"

Gish-
Class of 00 here, hook 'em! I'm not familiar with the garage by Element, but there is a fairly good one on 7th over by the Omni.
Vova-
The state garage on San Antonio is good too, free like you mentioned, but with the ARC down by La Zona there are more homeless and transients in that area that are more likely to break in to your car than a car thief. This is also not far from where I live and the last 2 times I have had my car messed with the cops said it was probably homeless people.
BTW, love your car, the brickyard with the GT-Cs are sweet!

GT vs. Z
Two completely different machines IMHO. The Z is a tightly sprung performance sports car. The GT is heavier, softer sprung and a lower performance car. I can only hope the Z retains as much styling impact after 10 years as the GT has.
The GT is N/A and has approx. 224hp from 2.9 litres and weighs approx. 3600 lbs. Her (auto) GT runs 0-60 in a blazing 8.5 sec, but does have a rather nice top end of 145+ mph. It is more comfortable driving long distances in the GT vs. the harder riding Z.
Regards, Jim

I don't know why, but I get a little freaky when people gather around my car or touch it. Yikes, I guess the last part of that sentence sounds snobby, but it just seems so impolite to finger-print up someones car.

About a month after I got a new Harley (worth about $18k), I showed it to a good friend of mine. (It was parked at a restaurant where I had met him for a business lunch). He jumped right on it without asking or without even thinking about it. If you have been around Harleys you know that that's just one thing that you don't do: jump on someone's Harley without asking. I didn't say anything, mostly b/c he didn't know and also b/c we were very good friends. Anyway, I sorta know how you feel about people monkeying with your stuff. You just want to know that it's going to by OK and stay nice. That's why you take care of it. You don't want anyone (whether you know them or not) messing anything up, even by accident.
See ya, Track.

I only know of one person (personally) who ever had his car stolen here.
The car was his old beater from H.S.
I think it was a 20 year old Monte Carlo or something of the sort that he had bought for about $500.
It was such a horrid POS (the worst car in which I've ever been), that the thieves drove it one or two blocks--and jumped out and abandoned it!
When the cops found it in the parking lot, both doors were open and the engine was still running!

Well, I bought my car to enjoy it everywhere I go. I especially like to bring it when I'm going out... because its kind of a feel good thing when u are dressed up looking your best, and pull up in a nice car. Sure I worry at times where its parked and whatnot.. but thats just part of the game that u have to play when you own a car that draws so much attention...

i guess it all depends on where you live and party at. as for me, i live in houston and will be moving to dallas soon. how safe is the parking at these places? i went to austin a couple of months ago and it seems like if you park far enough it shouldnt be a problem with people molesting your car. i just hope that when i move to dallas to school that nobody will mess up my car.

Yep, I am a member of about 12 different boards (I collect sports cars).
I'm a moderator on a couple, and just lurk in most.
I contribute constructive posts to a couple; the rest I just bleed for information.
