I was driving today Going around some turns Like usual except I forgot to turn off the TCS. I start to drift a bit (Whcih is expected) but when I go to accelerate out of the drift I cannot give the car gas because TCS is limiting it. This freaked me out. I've never had a car with TCS and I don't think I like it very much. Anyone else have probelms or is it just me?

uhhh how is that dangerous? limiting your fun? yeah. it can be turned off. it seems apparent that traction control would impede drifting, wouldnt be much use if it didnt, would it?

I was accelerating on the Highway, and shifted into 2nd real fast, if it wasn't for tcs/vdc, at the anle I was at, I would of lost control, it does work, thats why they give you the option to keep it on or off.

TCS drives much better than most of us. That is the purpose of it.

When I first picked up the Z I also was upset with what the electronics (TCS/VDC) do when I tried to get the back end loose.
After driving the Z for 6000 miles I now definitely appreciate the electronics when I'm driving on winding roads in case I run across an unexpected slippery patch (ice, wet leaves,etc). TCS/VDC work to immediately and impressively bring the car under control.

I'm not a race driver but I think most agree that with some practice, anyone can drive a race course or autocross faster without the electronics.

VDC probably can drive more safely than us but traction control can be dangerous if you need the throttle to right your direction or step out in traffic.

I would prefer the option to turn TCS off and let the VLSD and brake LSD combined with my right foot and the VDC in order to generate traction on throttle and work the brakes if I get twisted up. Maybe I'll work with a programmer and figure out how to do so.
