Default Thinking of trading in my 06 touring Auto for a Base or Enthusiast MT

I just talked to my dealer and can trade in my 06 ppw touring AUTO for a new 07 Base MT for $1-2K of cash. I've been thinking that I should of gotten the manual. More FI kits available easier to mod, more of a sports car, etc... On a base the only thing I might miss is the cruise control. AM I better off getting the base and an aftermarket LSD or should I get the enthusiast? Ken

id stick with the touring but then again manual is much more fun than auto IMO. i guess its your personal preference...accessories vs transmission, which one is more important

But dealerships should be able to get 07's in August right?

It really depends what the mileage on your touring is.

I would do it, I don't care if it was a "Super Nismo edition" AT 350z, hell i'd still do it for a manual.

I would trade it, if it really makes you HAPPY because if this is your everyday car, I stick with automatic. I wouldn't trade for an '07, how bout an '08 which probaly will have major changes. In the end, being happy is more important than money, but having more money gives you more buying power.

I think you should do whatever you want (within the limits of the law). As long as we live in this great country we can.........oh forget it. I'm getting tired of this.

Thomas (is spent and will be nice tomorrow)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I have an A/T also and, at times, I get feelings that maybe I should have gottn' an M/T... then again, on other times, I am greatful that I indeed chose the A/T. I'm not a racer... I don't care...

IMHO though, I think that trade is a rip off. If you REALLY can't stand the A/T tranny.... then do it... but if you really don't mind the A/T, i'd say stick w/ the cool Touring.

CC doesn't come on an Enthusiast? I am not convinced what package my Z is, but I'm pretty sure its a Touring, and I have CC.

The fact that Nissan doesn't offer CC on the base and therefore essentially charges $2k to get it by forcing us to move to the higher trim is irritating. I understand it from a sales perspective but as a consumer it's such BS.

You get alot more than just cruise control. Well worth it IMO. The base is good for those who just want the car and dont care about all the options or for those who plan on modding it down the road.

Thumbs down

I have a SB 04 touring w/ AT and love it. I was worried about not being able to get a turbo but there are some available, even a nice one by Turbonetics. I love all the options that come with the touring. I suggest keep the touring.

Well.... I talked to the women in charge or moral and finance and she said, "Doesn't that GT-R thing come out in a year or so? Why don't you just wait and trade it in for that?". EEK! She is definitly getting lucky tonight. K

It's actually not a big deal to alot of people. In fact, all variants of 350z's built for the Japanese market have no cruise control whatsoever.

I've never used cruise control for more than 10 seconds in my life. Some just don't use it because they're never in long enough stretches of highway.

I'd say the biggest things moving up from a base to an enthusiast would be the TCS and visc. LSD.
