Default Whats up with my door? Pic inside

Is there supposed to be plastic wedged inside of our Z's doors? I'm going to send her in tomorrow to the dealer because she needs an alignment (needed it ever since I rolled it off the lot 400 miles ago, but I was having too much fun to let her go).

Its only on the passenger side, pic:

Is that the reason why the '06 models gained weight?

I've never seen that and I taken apart the door panels a few times...mine is a early 03 so my z may be different.

Its shipping plastic, it can be removed. Or if your'e **** have the dealer pull the door panel and remove without tearing it.

My '06 had a little similar shreds of plastic around the tweeters on the door panels. It would seem that the inner door panels are wrapped in plastic during assembly or after assembly for transport. Sort of a precaution against grime and scuffs.

The dealers should be a little more careful when they prep the cars to pull the plastic off cleanly.

Just carefully trim it off with a razor blade.

All righty, time to use the trusty razor blade.

also why do u need an alignment? how did u know u needed one? hm?
To go straight I have to turn the wheel a few degrees to the left on an even road. I didn't really notice it until I took it to some familiar straights.

I had the same plastic on my doors...I took the panels off to replace the speakers so it all came out then.

TOOOOOOTALLY different department from us

Here is the drill...

Car comes off the truck...

Tech gets assigned to it to check it out, make sure everything is ok, install center caps, make sure any parts are there etc...

Goes into detail where they take off the white plastic stuff on the exterior, interior plastic (which is EVERYWHERE on the Z), and gives it a basic wash...

Car sits on lot waiting for you to take it home,

While working on the paper work they clean the car up with a full Exterior detail and clean up any dirt if any on the interior carpet.

Drive away happy!
