Default has anyone ever driven the Z without an oil filter?

I remember i drove my old toyota camry once without an Air filter.... the car sounded a lot louder due to the extra air it was getting.

Oil filter or air filter? I'll assume you meant air filter in the title...

Yeah, it will be louder. It will also let your engine suck up all sorts of nice contaminants, such as sand. Eventually you'll hear a symphony of nice, loud sounds..

I've never driven my Z without either air and oil filter.. both are required for optimum performance. Go ahead drive without the damn air filter but when I little pebble goes in.. It wont be sounding like nothing at all.. good luck with the project..

LOL.....you're playing Russian Roulette for sure if you drive around with no air-filter. If you're driving around without an oil filter, you're still playing Russian Roulette, just with 6 bullets in the gun.

This guy has never made a single serious post. I wonder how long he will be able to waste resources with his shenanigans. It's sad some people don't have better things to do. Surely there is some heavy traffic somewhere starving for some attention.....

I tested no filter NA when I was running 13.1's one night. I took off my Pop-charger and ran filterless for 1 pass. The car idled like crap, I ran it and my mph actually went down .5mph and I ran .1 slower, the ECU didnt have time to adjust. So, no its not worth it, even at the track

I think running without an oil filter is something worth trying. If your car revs so freely with all that highly viscous oil, just imagine how freely it will rev without all that oil to push through.

Not having an oil filter will give you about .3 lbs net weight savings.
