I loved the Z when I first saw the 300ZX come out when I was in eighth grade. I loved both the Z and the RX7, would have been very happy with either.

Nissan Fan through and through, the only cars I have ever paid for are Nissans: 98 Altima, 2001 Sentra SE, 2001 Pathfinder and after 20 Years of waiting I got my dream Z, 2004 DB Roadster!!!

My first car was a Sentra (brand new) traded it in, in 05 for a new Z. Now I plan to trade my Z in for a GTR in 08-09. So far i've only owned Nissan but nothing like some of the other members on here.

I personally thought Nissan cars were rather 2nd rate compared to Toyota and Honda cars, especially in the late 90's. However, I took a dive into the 350Z and my opinon has changed to a positive one.

I would recommend a Z as an all around sports car for someone who wants to get their feet wet on how a sports car feels. My biggest beef about the Z is the cramp engine bay (it makes modifying/rebuilding/tune ups a pain).

+1 Nissan has had some bad rep as well as designing FUSHUGLY cars in the past.

Hey the 300ZX wasnt all that affordable- I bought a new 1990 loaded (except for automatic), T.tops, 2+2, bose, cruise control, leather - it listed for over $3l000 - which was a lot more money at that time. I leased a corvette for a weekend, and the z for a weekend before buying. The corvette rode like a lumber wagon around town - and heated up when I took it for a spin on that hot summer day in the mountains! I wasnt sure it would make it back. I pounded the Z on the same drive - no problem - and a much smoother ride. The corvette was about the same price at the time.
Strange - the Z is about the same price now, the corvette is at least 60 grand. No wonder General Motors is having trouble selling autos.
I have had several other Nissan products and love em!

78 - 280z
89 - Maxima
96 - Hardbody Pickup
03 - 350z
Next who knows.

I've had a couple other cars between those cars but I always come back

Family cars before I bought my Z. . .
1983 Nissan Maxima
1985 Nissan Maxima
1987 Nissan Maxima
1989 Nissan Stanza
1998 Nissan Maxima

So yea we pretty much loved Nissans a long time before I got my Z.

Nissan got my attention back in the '80s with the factory supported IMSA GTP race car- the 300ZX Turbo. Watching that car kick azz on the Porsche 962s and other high tech prototype racers of the day was very cool. Test drove a 300z turbo that I could not afford at the time and was also impressed.

Yup, always been a fan. I've owned 4 here in the states and 2 others while stationed in Japan. In Japan, Toyota is #1 and Nissan #2, all others are far behind. Even owned a Skyline, but not the GT-R.
