Is there some rule if there are not holes you dont have to have a plate? I live in Texas and I am not sure of the laws of front plates. My 03 z has 2 hole indentions in the bumper but they are not punched through all the way. Anybody know the law in TEXAS about front plates?
thanks

Your homemade license plate holder looks good. What did you use to make one? Do you sell them also?

This may sound stupid, but I'll give it to you all anyway. I put a small, less than bicycle-sized plate with a 350Z emblem in the front grill of my 06, mainly because I was bored one day. Anyhow all I did was use 3M moulding tape to secure it to the grill slats. Worked wonderfully. It holds very securely, and if needed, it can be removed, albeit with a litle effort.

Texas law does mandate front plates, but most officers do not enforce this law on nice sports cars(Porsche, vettes, 350z's)

As you see in the pics I submitted, all I have to do is remove the plate (2 screws) and then undo the large center bolt and then clip the grill piece back in - 3 minutes.. tops.

Gives me the option to run or not run plates. If stopped I can put it back on quickly.

I used aluminum with stainless steel & plated hardware so it won't rust.
Once I test fit the one for the 2004 owner, I'll have the measurement for all model years (mine is 2006). If you're interested in one, PM me.

You guys could just buy the ZeeBracket though right?

I'm glad mine didn't get drilled too.

In my opinion the Z-Bracket is not the best option because the front grill will take any impact. Mine, similar to the Stillen, uses the tow hook receptacle which is welded to the front cross-member.

I do not plan on having plates. I just wanted to make sure to avoid Zs that have the plates already. Athough when I was going school in SF, I paid ~600 for not havng plates (you CANNOT get them written off). The no-plate-tickets came free with every parking ticket I got. =( Hopefully SOCAL treats me better =).

you can sign a waiver that the dealership should present to you that states you "acknowledge" the fact you need a front license plate, but refuse to put one on.

I signed one for my old GTO

Yes, all Zs on dealer lots with front plate bracket installed will of course have holes drilled for them. Mine was pristine and untouched as per my instructions when I picked it up. Then when I had the bodykit installed a few weeks later, I also had the shop fill-in and paint over the two little dimples meant to indicate where the holes should be drilled.

Hm... what to do?

Unfortunately my Z came with a front license plate with 2 drilled holes in the front bumper.

Is there anything I can do to cover up the holes? or do I have to get a completely new front bumper? I plan on not using the front license plate at all, or if I have to, I would rather use the Z bracket. Any suggestions?

I got pics.
