I never lost me key, but I have replaced the keyless entry remote. It cost me three bux on eBay, and it came with intructions on how to program it. Did it myself in literally under 10 seconds. It's OEM too, so I didn't buy garbage. You just gotta know how to search for it, but then again, maybe I just happened to find the right seller at the right time, lol. Good luck tho. And I'm sure you can find the programing instruction online somewhere.

I have been throught it!!!! As sleeper69 said you can find a remote on ebay, I did this for my wifes 2004 camery. As for the z when I had my installer of my stereo lost a set (he paid for the new set 1-key 1-remote). As for the key when you reprogam it you need to reprogram the rest of them. Your lost key WILL NOT WORK anymore. As far as cost throught a dealer hope your sitting down 1 key, 1 remote, plus programing. $300 in my case glad I didnt have to pay. But the bigger issue somewhere there is a key flowting around thats starts your car. David

The dealer can make a key from just the VIN number info, but must have your car and all keys to reprogram the ECU to recognize the keys. About $80 for program, $60 for the key. Many locksmiths are equipped to come to your car and make the key and reprogram the ECU, call a few and get a price.
Remotes are cheap on epray and you can program them yourself.

I went through this yesterday...

My fiancee's mother's bag was stolen in vegas over the weekend and she only had one key for her 2002 Altima. The key was 162.00 out the door at the dealership. Only one new cut key and programming. That was the easy part.

The hard part was we had to tow the car to the dealership under our expense because our cheap insurance company only covers 50.00 of the bill. The towing quotes I received were averaging $65.00 to hook up and $5.00 a mile. The dealership is about 20 miles away. Which is easily $165.00 total not counting the $50 from the insurance yet. So that was about to turn into a $327.00 problem for ONE key ( no remote ). I didn't pay the towing because a friend had AAA and towing was free for them.

BTW all my local locksmiths charged around $375.00 to come to our house to do it and $150.00 if we went there but no one was able to do it until a couple days later. It's very inconvenient trying to get a replacement, do your research and never lose your keys again.

Thanks for all of your help, it is looking like I will be paying $180 from a local locksmith for a new key and programming on site at my car. I'll look for a new FOB on ebay.
