Hey Guys,

Regarding this same item on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...URL=0&photoDis playType=2#ebayphotohosting

I e-mailed the seller thru eBay with this question:

James,

Many people on Z Car on-line clubs think this auction is a scam, since the price is low, you have zero feedback.

What else can you tell us about the kit, so that we know this auction is legit?

AND ..I got this response from him:

and why wont people use the dern search button!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the 3rd time this guys auctions has been brought up on this forum. Hes always been in miami with some BS story and such yet hes not a forum member and noone knows him. His ids change. he normally wants to use money transfer via western union. He will often use the 'may already be sold' excuse when you inquire about pickup and such.

one from less than 20 days ago but pulled from ebay

I called him yesterday.. its so a scam.... he was like i don't do paypal, but the turbo kit is on ebay? Then he told me to send him 900 bucks in money order under my dad's name then change it over to him after i get the turbo kit. He lost me after that... So yeah over all i think its BS... but i wouldn't mine having an extra kit laying around =) ..

He said the kit was installed by south Florida performance. Thats something that can be verified. All I can say is that if there is anyone in the area that is willing to go up there and pick it up for me, I am willing to pay for their time and effort. If its legit, its too good of a deal to pass up. What do you guys think.

Now this is starting to smell: Any deal made off-eBay offers no buyer protection.

Thanks for exposing this thief. The money order is a dead giveaway.

Biggest red flag is right there in the description. Kit was installed in the car, and then car was totalled? Uh... yeah, so the TT would be in PERFECT condition, then... Riiiiiiiight.

Dave079,

Was his/her eBay ID "smileton"?? If not, then it's a totally different person. If it's the same person, they need to be told to RETRACT their bid!!

That's probably not a pic of the real stuff, as he said it was installed and the car was totalled. I would stay the hell away.

However, we have no absolute proof that the seller is scamming the buyer, it definitely SEEMS that way, but eBay would want more than just speculation to pull an auction!
