$800 to put it back together? What the hell are they charging for labor rates? That is like a 4-5 hour job with the install of the flywheel and clutch at the most.

STOCK flywheel is around $1057 LIST PRICE for a NEW one...

You can get a complete flywheel and clutch set up for less then that and get better performance!

NEW OEM Flywheel will be $825 from us...

BUT, talk to me, I WONT let you buy it...

+1

Buying new stockers, especially from the dealer, is major rapage since it will be really overpriced. An aftermarket setup such as the JWT combo will be a lot more affordable & better than stock in terms of performance.

Massachusetts law says unless you got a quote for having it taken apart and put together, they are required to put it back together for no cost. So shops can't hold your cars hostage. Usually the people to mediate this is the cops.

good luck in CA

I bought my JWT clutch/flywheel combo from Performance Nissan of Duarte. Much better engagement and response than stock. You should talk to Andy or Jason, they will definitely hook you up. Jason, do you have any recent pics of your 240?? I've been looking forward to seeing what you've done with the car.

If they didn't present you with a written estimate to R&I (remove and inspect) the clutch for $800 then you don't have to pay. If you want to avoid all the confrontation, then just PAY it, go to the Department of Motor Vehicles and dispute it. Then they will return your money. I run an automotive shop in Cali. You can go to DMV and get all the info you need. Cali has the strictest laws when it comes to auto shops and always favors the consumers.

they did though, and i foolishly agreed to it...so I'm just getting a new clutch and I dont have to pay to put it in, just pay the 800 for the remove, inspection, and installation of new clutch for 800
