Zbarrister, you seriously need to lighten up! Do you really think I was trying to be insulting? If I insulted you, well, I won't say sorry, but it wasn't intended. I actually picked up that statement after Jay said 'It's not like we ****-moderate and tell everyone "the way it is"', because I disagree. Anyway, chill out.

Hey Guys,

Jeff15 is gone. Let's not give him what he obviously wanted which is to stir us up and start the fighting. Let's just move on...

All in favor?

all right, deep breath everyone. first off, to jay and all the mods, you're all doing a great job. keep it up. next, to everyone else, there are rules to this forum to keep everything as calm and civilized as possible. it is ultimately up to you to decide what to put in your own posts and you should be asking yourself before you ever post if there is anything that might break or bend one of these rules or someone could take as an innapropriate remark. also, common sense goes a long way as does the search function. while posts and sometimes entire threads seem to vanish, don't immediately subscribe to the cheapest conspiracy theory. as far as cursing in the forum goes, you can type a mixture of alphas and symbols and people will definitely know what you were thinking. as it is against the rules to type it out and people have been "creative" with their spelling to no ill affect from the mods, it seems this is how these words should be approached if you must have them. does it make sense? no. but that is just the way it is and sometimes you have to accept that and move on. my advice, if someone doesn't want their post deleted, use the rules, logic, and courtesy for others to analyze your words before posting. if you do notice something after you have posted that you are unsure of, ask a mod or just take the initiative and edit your own post.
your(your words)post = you're responsible
Just my .02 guys and gals. Sorry to take up the space.

I have no complaints, however other persons do, fair enough all our perceptions are different.

However, make your arguments without using images and concepts you clearly do not understand. It's simply bad form and does not help those reading your posts understand your side of things.

The old adage seems to run true: Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it!
I agree, those that don't know their history are doomed to repeat it.

I also recall that their wasn't much resistance to the Gestapo in its early days. Most people weren't affected by their tactics. Only a select few who weren't listened to because it was their problem. Only when a person was targetted did it get to be their problem to.

No, this place isn't a Gestapo in any sense of the word even though we use it to catagorize a place that uses strong arm tactics. I do think that is all that was meant by it, but since you brought up the history, I just wanted to liken it to what you said.

That is flat out inflamatory!! Statements like that are exactly what makes zcar.com what it is. Maybe you should take your own advice. Pretty ironic!!!!

I do enjoy this site, and I come to it quite often in fact (even though I don't post all the time). I agree with Nizl and infinite z in the sense that some posts might be edited unfairly. I totally agree that sexist, racists, or other remarks like that should be taken off. However, I feel that without some debate or criticism about certain topics, a message board wouldn't be.....a message board. Jeff15 was a little annoying and seeing him go won't bother me any. What I'm saying is, I would hate to see this nice site become a place of constant editing by the mods over some trivial stuff. Other than that, so good so far!

Jay-

I didn't mean to start anything here, I just wanted to opine my belief that a couple of the mods have needlessly edited mine and other's comments. I have never once made racial or sexist remarks, and never would. I have never flamed anyone or directly insulted anyone either. I just think that in an effort to keep this site clean and fun, a few of the mods have gotten a little trigger happy when someone expresses an opinion that might be controversial (but not racist or sexist or inflammatory). I don't know anything about this Jeff15 guy, so I'm not supporting anything he did. But I just felt my opinion on my opinions should be heard. This is a wonderful community here, and open discussion about this fantastic car should be welcomed, not restricted. Ok, I'm done. I hope I wasn't ranting.

I'm a moderator on another very large automotive tech site, so I know how the job can be frustrating at times. You woulnd't believe how many stupid things members post that they don't realize offends other members.

This site is relatively new, with most of the members having pre-orders. Unfortunately, I will warn the moderators that the future may yield a large influx of ricers and kids, so be forewarned that your duties may increase 10 fold.

Regardless, the Moderators are all justified in their actions. Keep up the good work, and to the rest of you, happy posting. Have fun and learn.
