Hey everyone this is my first post as a Z owner. I just purchased an 03 SS Touring 6Spd. One of my best freinds just bought a g35 as well. He loves to break em on me cuz he knows cars is and has been a hobby of mine for years. He says which really gets me is "my G35 can do everything your Z can and better. As fellow Z owners i just wanted your opinion as to why u picked the Z over the G35 or other cars. My reason is its a true sprts car with better performace and styling and its been a big change from being a camaro/firebird V8 guy for years. Thanks guys

Yes, G35 is very close to the Z in terms of performance, but it sure doesn't
do it 'better' than the Z.
When it comes to accleration and handling stock for stock, the Z has edge over G35.
Only thing G35 does better that Z is the interior and 2 back seats.
I've driven both, and the Z is just better responding car.

Oh btw, I hope your friend didn't buy an auto and talking all this smack.

Please ask your friend to review the "Will the Z's stock <fill part name here> fit my G?" threads online.

G35s are terrific cars, but they aren't made for the same segment as the Z. Gs are a blend of performance and luxury/comfort, while the Zs are all out performance machines. It's about being a sports car vs. a sports coupe; different vehicles for different folks.

 

haha he did buy an auto cuz he dont know how to drive standard he buys to impress other people and i do it for myself. he did say that mine was faster but his is better lin all other ways but whateva and his G35 wooos everyone and turns heads haha

Likewise, our cars are just that: The Z is the fast and cool Michael Jordan, and the G35c is Mia Ham, a girl.

yea i havnt gone thru a midlife crisis yet to buy a G35 and by the way he only paid 500 dollars more for the infiniti badges

 

This has been talked about quite a bit. Given that one can literally buy either car for the same price, it really boils down to whether or not you want more sport or more comfort.

I preferred the Z. I love the G, but I opted to get the sportier of the two.

I (will be) a g35 owner. And I know the facts.

G35's are slightly slower than Z's because they weight alot. One is 100% Sporty, the other is 65% sporty and 35% luxury + 2 seats. And... thats it.

Both are great cars, end of story.

 

Both the 350Z and G35 are great cars, different but great. The positive attributes of each take nothing away from the other. Enjoy the ride.

i hate it when G or Z owners get religious about which is better. they're both awesome cars that are related... i own a g sedan, and i love the Z. i bought what fit my needs. i don't think of one car as being better than the other, they're both awesome at what they try to do. nuff said

I could have easily afforded a G, but went with a Z because it is a real sports car (2 seater, RWD).
