Here are some pix of the pedal stop from the installation manual I put together...
it shows the pedal stop and the clutch trigger in place... how they work...

i will also sometimes begin shifting WHILE pressing the clutch... (only when racing) because there is VERY seldom a grinding problem getting out of gear... so by the time i get into my next gear i'm already past the distance necessary to shift into the next gear...
Well I'm getting my Z in a couple of days and I just test drove a few of them. The clutch is a lot heavier/stiffer than most of the other cars I drove. But then again, I'm driving a 2005 Chevy Cobalt...shifting and clutching feels so much lighter but maybe that's because I'm use to it. I always push the clutch all the way to the floor, but with the Z, I did notice I didn't have to...right after I got out of 1st gear I was like...."this clutch seems to heavy too have to push it all the way down' so I tried it half way, then a little bit less than half way and it was still fine. But to be SAFE, I would recommend pushing it all the way down and working out that left leg of yours.
just far enough 2 get into gear without the nasty grinding sound when practicing. let go of it smoothly 2. After u get used 2 it, then u can shift a lot faster. Don't race nobody yet if u can't shift fast, u will embarass urself n ur ride. Good luck practicing.
I go all the way to the floor most of the time.
But you can get a much better shift by side stepping on the dead pedal. Even with that yields a good engagement point

Not another one of these threads.
To the floor always. So you don't have to make a conscious decision about did I go far enough to not grind.
Sorry to be the search police, but I just searched for "Clutch" in this forum:

All the way down, if you don't mine may grind from time to time... you can adjust the clutch pedal up or down with the fitting on the back of the pedal.. there is a linkage there.. do a search on it for pictures and instructions...
