I graduated high school because I didn't want to work at McDonalds my whole life...I didn't expect anything in return for it...sure a nice car would have been nice and I wouldn't have refused it...but come on isn't that a bit much?

Now that being said you said you pay the monthly payments on the car, that is cool nice seeing a kid taking some responsiblity, I'm 24 and that is partly the reason why I'm so passionate about this topic, I saw kids in my class get new cars and turned out to nothing in life...where as I worked my *** off and I've owned 2 homes and now have a paid off Z. There is a lot to be said about having some responsiblity
Great i'm glad i'm not the only one, I didn't get my Z in high school... sometimes i wish i did but then i think about it... and i'm glad i didn't... more than likely, i would have crashed it... I can admit that i did some rather stupid stuff in high school and having a faster car would have only made it worse... THAT is my only reason for disagreement of "kids" having sports cars that were given by their parents... I can't count how many "rich" kids drove their *** to school in their new Mustang or BMW or something like that... then had the ***** to complain to their friends that they didn't like it or something like that... I always wanted to just yell STFU!!! You SPOILED A$$ B***H... My dad financed my Civic when i was in school and i worked my butt off to make the payment, maintenance, gas and insurance... i did all my routine work, oil, brakes, etc. myself... then after i had graduated HS and was promoted at work i thought it was time for a newer car, my aim: a '04 SB Z Touring... somehow i bought a '03 CS Touring but hey, that's life, and i still love it...

Congrats to you guys that worked for what you have... and may we pass the same ways on to the next generation

I'd have to disagree with you. I don't see any problem in a person buying another person a 30K car so long as the person wants to.

I dunno why "kids" think having a Z is something to write home about. It's a nissan and it's not even the most expensive nissan. Sure it's fast and is a sports car but on the contrary there are kids out there 18-19-20 and drive ferrari's, bentley's and so forth, yet we never see/hear them brag about their 200k ride(well maybe they do, but i would also ) My bro drives an 05 s4 and doesnt go on ANY audi forums, doesnt race, never brags, when ppl ask him what he drives he just says "an audi", looks like a regular a4 to the typical eye, but it's a 45k s4. Anywho enjoy your new Z!!, drive safe!, but please remember it's not a ferrari.

Well I'm 16 and I own a Z. I make monthly payments, pay for gas and everything else. (expect for insurance and my dad helped me pay for 4k in down payment while I paid for another 4k)

I understand why some of our "older" members dislike teens owning Z's, But I think they should understand that not all of us are spoiled. There are a few of us that actually work hard for their car.

LegionnaireZ said that he worked hard for his Civic, Well I'm about the same only I'm working on my Z. So if I should be yelled at by members about me owning a Z, you should be yelled at for owning a Civic when you were younger?

Frank, I'm doing the samething as your brother actually. I tell people I own an Nissan, and when they ask what kind, I tell them just a normal Nissan.
~Also people do brag about owning 200k+ cars. Just ask my friend who's 15 with a Lamberghini

I call B.S. on this one. The stock 0-60 for the Type S is barely under 7sec. Give me a break my 03' Z was rated at 5.4 by Motor Trend. Your telling me that your going to pick up almost a second and a half from those mods. B.S.

My 03' Z weighs a tad under 3200. only 160lbs. diff than your Types-S with 210hp and 143 ft/lbs torque stock. show me a dyno where you gained 130lb/ft. of torque and 80hp. with bolt-ons and I'll believe you. The Type-S is not in the same league. Once you started modding one car than you should equally mod the other. How many Type-S's out there with over 600rwhp?

A more fair comparison for the Type-S is the GTI or the MX-5.

181 BluZ, i only owned a civic because what i really wanted at the time (Prelude) was said to have "too high" of insurance... so i had to settle for a "lesser" of a vehicle... don't get me wrong i loved my civic, but after a while... you just come to know it as what it is... a civic... it just didn't have the power that i wanted... and i didn't really want to sink a cold 10K into it to get what i wanted... because it would still be a civic...

so i opted for the Z... sure it's not a Ferrari (360 Challenge Stradelle is my fav.) and sure it's a sub-40K car... but it's pretty, quick, and handles very well especially for what i use it for... Daily Driver... so this is my new baby, i'll invest in it where i think i would like "more" and be happy

Hey, hey, no hating on Mickey D's.

If it weren't for their french fries and chicken nuggets, I'd be starving.

The Z is pretty much maxed out from the factory, boltons dont do much for the Z infact some mods even lose Hp and tq, mod for mod the rsx is a better bargain, u can get a lot more gains out of it.

Totally disagree having driven both I know the RSX is quicker than most give it credit for....takes more than a magazine to rate cars...
