****Begin Rant***

Man one thing that really pees me off are these slow drivers on the fast lane, driving way below the speed limit.

It is especially bad here as 90% of the highways are 2 lanes. The slow lane and fast lane.

So now these egg heads drive slow in the fast lane......no! screw that...even if they are driving faster than the legal speed limit..this just pees me off...the law clearly states, well in NZ anyway..keep left unless passing, etc

So I get irritated when I drive at a normal following distance for a while, you know giving the said Egg Head the chance to look in his mirror and see that ther's a sports car behind his slow *** and he should move left.....never mind the fact this Egg head should be in the left lane to start with

Anyway....no response!!!

ok, so now I slowly creep closer, to indicate, listen dumb ***, go left....nothing

Ok, so now I give one or 2 brief flashes.......nothing

By this stage I now go into the slow lane, accelerate and overtake and one could say break the law and overtake on the wrong side of the road.

Now when I pull back into the fast lane, the Egg head behind me now normally starts flashing like crazy, and indicating to me that I'm a fu*&*ng crazy man and breaking the law, for speeding or whatever, when its him or she, that is actually breaking the law to start with.

Some people actually wait for you to start passing, then indicate and start pulling into the slow lane, then you gotta brake and move into the fast to overtake. SOmetime they will even smile at you when you pass...like there pleased with themselves or something???

This is when I SLAM on the brakes, open the sunroof and give the finger and speed away.... follow if you want and meet my .45

You should only be in the fastest lane to actively pass!!!!

last night i was driving on a 2 lane highway in my G and there was a Camry sitting in the fast lane (outside the conti US, so left lane=slow lane) . no other cars were around. he sees me approaching going faster than him in the left lane and decides to switch to the left lane! so i slow down behind him, matching speed and wait to see what he'll do and then he changes his mind and goes back to the right/fast lane!

so i accelerate to pass on the left and i notice he's trying to prevent me from passing/keep ahead of me. i got annoyed and downshifted and just went. he tried to keep up - i guess it was a v6 camry cause i didnt pull all that hard but i pulled none the less and stretched him out on the straights. He didnt give up at first and i saw him try to enter into turns as fast as me! After a while i think he was forced to slow down and he fell back.

At a red light later on he tried to pull up to me to tell me something, shouting at me. I didnt even roll my windows down. He had no business driving in the passing lane and I hate it when people do that.

 

Sorry a little thread jack. It really annoys me when people pull out in front of you and then drive slow, especially when there was no one behind you and they only had to wait a few seconds more.

 

I pass that muthaphuck. Double line and all.

 

We have alot of this in Houston, especially on the entry ramps to freeways. I always believed the entry ramp was for accelerating, so upon merging onto the freeway the vehicle entering would be at proper speed. Unfortunately here in Houston we have many drivers that choose to wait until they've entered the freeway at 40mph, then begin the acceleration process. It causes problems indeed.

 

I feel your pain!!! In every survey they do over here, the driving act which annoys people the most is driving to much on the left with a slow speed, followed closely by people getting annoyed with others to close on their tail.
Those two are undeniable linked. It all starts with people driving slow on the left, where people behind get annoyed and move closer.
Both of these annoying factors can be solved with people driving as much on the right as possible!!!

What I hate the most is big trucks overtaking cars with a mobile home trailer (caravan). Then I'm really tempted to move all the way to the right and take the emergency lane.....

 

Come to Jersey, you will either kill yourself or the other driver! They all do this and a ton of other stupid annoying, non-skill driving, wanna be road police #$%^ munches!
sorry this is one of my huge pet peeves! People need to learn: a) the rules of the road B) how to drive and C) some common courtesy! My thinking is, I don’t care that you wanna drive fast or slow, just do it in the lane you are suppose to! Trust me I ‘drive’ my car and if I see someone coming up behind me, I move over, takes less than a second or two.
+1 also on the jerks who pull out in front of you like they are about to stomp it and then drive like my dead grandmother!

 

I've seen cars here in Texas on the left lane, driving slowly, with no other cars on the right lane(s). This is really irritating. Here's what I've done before to get the message across -> I pass them up on the right lane and move over to the left lane to get in front of them. Then I slow down. When I'm in my pickup truck, I usually try to block their view so they can't see what's in front of them. After a minute or so, they move over to the right lane. Then I drive off...

 

Be cool. All that you will get for your frustration is ulcers and a heart attack.

 

I think behind all the excitement of the tread some people mixed up right and left lane in their description (just an observation).

As far as learning/knowing how to drive I think Italians are one of the best drivers, especially in Rome. You'd have a gridlock and people still manage to drive through and I don't mean just the bikers.

Happens all the time here in Northern CA.

If they would secure the border, the problem would all but dissapear.

Carry a bunch of steal ball bearings with you, then when they flash you,... well.

I give people a chance to get in the slow lane and when they don't, I pass them in the slow lane and cut their fuggin a$$es off!! Sometimes within just 2 feet of hitting them. That should give them at least a reason to flash me.

People suck.

 

Happens all the time up here in Vermont. Cars with MA, NJ and NY plates drive in the left lane and NEVER pull over. They must figure us hicks can't drive fast enough to keep up!

 

that's by far my biggest pet peeve, it's a good thing the Z doesn't have any weapons in it, otherwise I'd be doing some Twisted Metal $#it all over the highway.

I hit Houstons entry ramps like I'm runnin from the law cause I know people on the loop are'nt messin around.

 

Another one that irritates me and that causes a lot of accidents are idiots who stop on the entrance ramps to the freeways!!! They freakin' stop their cars instead of accelerating and merging with the traffic!!!

 

my favorite is the people on the beltway up in DC and Baltimore. When they miss their exit, then they just stop, put the car in reverse, and get off...

 

Yeah, I understand. Especially being in a sports car, going 70 mph is nothing for me. I see a lot of slow driving cars in the fast lanes these days and they dont bother to move out of the way even if you tailing them.
