Sure, but I don't have a scanner, so I'll just type it all. I went to the drag strip last Friday (21st of July), so this is fresh off the press. Now I'm no pro when it comes to drag racing. This was actually my 3rd time at a drag strip so be nice.

Speedshifting........Powershifting
60' - 2.155............2.132
330 - 5.965...........5.943
1/8 - 9.071...........9.042
mph - 79.66..........79.69
1000 - 11.727.......11.693
1/4 - 13.972.........13.932
mph - 101.74........101.98

The weather that day was excruciatingly hot. It was over a 100 until 9 o'clockish then "cooled" down to mid 90s by 10:30. The humidity was high also. I hate texas weather!!

Good numbers for July. If I can get 14.0 seconds in July I am happy.

That's what I've been hearing. I don't think I'm the best or anything but I do think I'm better than a lot people. That same night, a TN ST Z's best run was 14.0 (but his car was going into limp mode) and another Z that was modded exactly like mine except with a few more things and lighter rims was doing 14.0 at best. BUT, I'm still just a newb when it comes to drag racing so I need all the advice I can get. So do you have any advice for me?

Your times are fine. You can work on the 60-foot time to get it down to 2.0 seconds, but still, maybe the car wont go any faster. BTW you will run 13.80 seconds or better in October. Better numbers are cool to post, but they mean little when competing: the competition will also be running better.

I've already run 13.8s before back in early July or late June. So I'm hoping to run 13.7s when it gets cooler, but by the time it's cooler the track will be closed.. I also just got new tires (the day of the track) so I was learning how the tires were. I had pirelli p-zero nero m+s which blew on the highway, so I got nitto 555 extreme zr.

I was taught speed shifting and how to do it without even having to engage the clutch, but that was in old muscle cars. Is it possible to do that in the newer cars?

There is an entire thread about shifting without using the clutch.

I didn't realize that just uploading a picture would cause the whole page to need reapproval. Check back later.

Done it in a few cars actually Usually they fly off somewhere in the cabin on a 1-2 shift. My stock **** would rotate 90 degrees or so after every 1/4 run, so I upgarded to the Nismo rubber with the allen screw holding it tight, only minimal movement now I only powershift because its a personal preference, I feel like I slow down considerably when I have to lift off the gas.

I'm going back this fall instead of the middle of june.

I should easily be able to hit 13's even with the +1000 ft altitude. I might play with my tire pressure next time too.

Cool, I'll have to search and read it. I miss the fun driving stick. Makes me sick I can't anymore.

Quick shifts improve ET and MPH. I shift at red-line minus 300 rpm. On 1st to 2nd shift, power shifting (leaving your foot on the gas to the flow as you depress the clutch and make your shift) is not recommended do to traction. The 2nd to 3rd shift can realize significant gains with a power shift however, this is the trickiest to maneuver (directional angle of the path between 2 and 3). The 3rd to 4th shift is the easiest to power shift.

everyone has their own opinions about tranny's, mine is a little on the conservative side. no claim it's the best way.
