350Z production numbers
Anyone know or know where I can find the production figures for 350Z's, for example how many were made each year, or of each color etc.?

Hmm alright. It seems like information like this would be easy to find but its not.

If you want the real numbers, check out http://www.nissannews.com/
Click on the Nissan link on the bar across the top of the page. Look to the right of that page and you will see a section "Sales News". Click on that link and you'll see a list of years and months within each year. Those links take you to the actual sales figures.
You should wind up at the page:
http://www.nissannews.com/nissan/sales/index.shtml
Nissan does not publish a breakdown by trim, color, etc.

Anybody know if they post the numbers for coupe vs. convertible? I think I read they make around 5,000 roadsters per year, world-wide, and around 20,000 coupes. Haven't seen any hard numbers to confirm that, though.

Haha.. the Honda dealer was trying to sell me the Civic Si over the Z because it's a limited production car and since Nissan "floods the market with Zs". My response was "great so there are that many more cars out there that can spank my ***".

They don't publish anything official that is broken down by trim, color, coupe vs roadster, Anniv Edition, etc.
In 04 when they first came out, Nissan did state that about 1/3 of the cars produced that year would be roadsters. There's no way to know if that has held true for the other years.

"Flood the market with Zs" - that's funny considering Nissan sells less than 30K per year. If Zs are flooding the markets, then Mustangs must be a tsunami as Ford claimed in the first year alone they would sell 250,000.

Z is Rare--very Rare
According to Ward's Automotive Report, the number of automobiles and light trucks annually produced worldwide is in the 20-22 MILLION numbers each year. This number has remained consistent for the past 4 years.
In the USA,approx. 15 million are sold annually, also a reliably consistent number.
Nissan began production of the Z in the Summer of '02.The annual production numbers for the car are in the 30,000 range;this means there are about 120,000 350Zs running around on the planet.During that same period,EIGHTY MILLION cars were produced and presumably sold.
Finally, since 2002,over sixty million cars have been sold in the USA.If Nissan sells 75% of all the Zs it produces in the USA(my estimate),that is just over 100,000 American 350Zs,so the equation is 100,000/60,000,000,a miniscule percentage. This makes our car as rare as 3-eyed Trout or lips on chickens.
Somebody do the math.
