i plan to keep my Z because it's gonna be a classic. it'll be my project car and i'll want to swap the latest GT-R engine in it. the engine will be built by me from the ground up.

Btw u can get a new 6.0 gto for around 28-29k and im sure u can get the 5.7 gto for even cheaper
So I guess for you the last of the Supras and the last of the RX7 are not classics because they don't have 35-40 years old design. And the Z32 300zx TT is a classic. It has been one of the most influential cars ever according to Automobile magazine in the ten best cars edition. Everybody has their opinion I guess. By the way, I think the Z has at least the same probability as the GTO of becoming a classic. Remember that at this day and age, amarican cars have lost a lot of spark that they used to have. Only a handful of cars are good ones. Cobra 03-04, Corvettes since the advent of the yellows Compuware in racing, SRT4, Viper, Escalade, Chrysler SRT8, and maybe a very few others.

Some other **** boxes are classics in my mind. Honda CRX Si, NSX, 96-00 Civic Coupe EX and Si M/T, 83 Corollas, 94 Pathfinders SE 4x4, 89 911 Cabriolet, Ferrari 328, S2000...

These are all great cars. Classic cars without the price tag. But don't let the price tag fool you. Not everybody that looks for a great car goes to Barret Jackson and pay +100k in a 60's muscle.

Let's see...a GT Roadster w/navi in So. Cal...2nd car about 5K miles/year...love everything about the Z....In 10 years I'll have 50K miles on her and it'll still be like brand new. I plan on keeping the Z for quite a while. For me, it's the perfect car. Garaged every night. Whether or not this Z is going to be considered a classic, It's still going to look good into the future. C'mon guys, think 15 years from now and you see a perfect, pristine '05 350zr...it's going to look sweet!!!! And feel even better!!!!!

I'm gonna sell it when I can find another car that costs $27,000 new, has 300hp, looks just as good, and has RWD.

Not a fair comparison. The Z31 was not the greatest move as far as the Z goes, the Z32 TT was/is sweet but not everone wanted the performance of the TT so the NA verson fit the bill. But both of those were just new models of the Z, 4 generations continuously produced. The Z33 was the re-birth of a tradition and I think it will be considered a classic, just don't know how long that will take. BTW, keeping mine forever. If I buy something else, I'll still keep the Z. And the '03 will be the one to own into the future - thats when the re-birth occured.

if i get married and have kids i'll have to sell if whether i like to or not. simply out of convenience. they should really make back seats in the Z, make it more fuel efficient (use I-4), and give it more cargo room like the Golf.

The Z32 TT is an excellent car, but it's not a "classic". In order to be classic it needs to be and remain popular for many years. Maybe you're young enough that 10 years seems like many years, but for me, it'll need to be at least 30-40 years old and still be highly regarded before it'll be a classic. To me, the only Z that quaiifies for classic status is the 240Z.

I'll keep it until the style looks outdated and uncool... That should be about 40 years

I'm with the classic = yes people here. The 350Z is a great car to look at, and I don't mind seeing lots of them everyday...mostly since I don't own one yet. There are a few in the business park around my office building (black, Silver and Blue examples) that I see during my lunch hour. It seems that every manufacturer builds a car that looks like it could be the next version of the Honda Civic, but no one makes another car that you could mistake for a 350Z.

When I do get one it will be a long term car, 8 to 10 years at least.

I've always wanted a Z car and I have one. I've put too much money into it so it's just really hard to try and sell. I plan on keeping it forever. This will be the last car I'll modify this much though. I think the next car I get will be a fast *** GT/sportscar.

Till the lease is up...and then, I just might..just maybe...Step up to the Z roadster ..Daytone Blue or Lemans Sunset...or a Porsche convertible.

Wait a min...The Nissan GT-R might be an option too..hmmm??

I think what you discribed is a Golf, not a Z, so really you are saying you don't want a Z. There are plenty of I-4 fuel efficient 4 or more passenger cars with cargo room to choose from. Why in the world should one of the few 2 passenger production cars become one? That is like saying I have to haul lumber and they should really make the Z with a pickup truck bed.
